WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) today welcomed more than 70 Utah veterans to Washington, D.C., for their Honor Flight, meeting at the World War II Memorial. The Utah Honor Flight group included veterans from World War II, the Korean and Vietnam wars, the Cold War, and Desert Storm.
“Our nation’s veterans—and the profound respect for our country and its founding principles they hold—are truly inspiring,”said Senator Romney. “I was honored to meet with these heroes during their visit to the World War II Memorial and offer my sincere appreciation for their service and sacrifices. Utah is a state with a deep history of service to our country, and these Honor Flights—where our veterans visit monuments that honor their fellow servicemembers and friends—touch the heart.”
