WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) released the following statement regarding the announcement from Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) that he will not seek another term in the Senate when his current term expires in 2022:
“Over his three decades in public service, my friend Rob Portman has been a dedicated and principled leader for his home state of Ohio and our nation. His policy contributions on a range of issues, particularly related to budget and trade, have had a positive impact. We will miss him greatly, but we are grateful he will still be with us in the Senate for two more years. I look forward to our continued work together on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Ann and I offer our best to him, his wife Jane, and their entire family.”
