WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) released the following statement regarding the historic peace agreements between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain which were signed at the White House today:
“Forging new partnerships between our friends in the Middle East is critical to countering the region’s malign actors such as Iran and is in the best interest of U.S. national security. The normalization of relations between the UAE and Israel will advance commerce, encourage travel between the two countries, and establish diplomatic ties – and help encourage mutual economic, diplomatic, and security goals. I applaud the President and the administration’s hard-won efforts in facilitating these historic peace agreements with both the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain which advance the cause of peace and prosperity in the region.”
