Romney, Menendez Joint Statement on Tunisia Elections

On September 15, for the second time since the 2011 revolution, Tunisians will participate in free and fair presidential elections. This will be followed by the October 6 parliamentary elections. While Tunisians prepare to reaffirm their commitment to democracy by voting for a new President and representatives, we in the United States reaffirm our commitment to Tunisia and its democracy, security and prosperity. Tunisia continues to stand as a model for those seeking to transition from autocracy to democracy and the people of the United States will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Tunisia on their inspiring journey.
